1 year later

Monday and Tuesday of this week were exactly 1 year since Abel's liver transplant. Currently he is still going back to Dallas once a week for infusions due to the fact he has CMV (which he has had before). CMV is very treatable and when the numbers go down some more he won't have to go back to Dallas for a while (probably a year).

Abel just got a job a couple of weeks ago at Donut Stop here in town. Funny thing is he has had 2 other job offers since (Home Depot and Walmart) and turned them down. He feels that the job he has is a steady and fairly easy; which is exactly what he needs right now. He turned down the 2 job offers because he didn't feel that he could keep up with the rigorous pace they would be expecting. He obviously is gaining strength everyday and doing VERY well, but he didn't feel that he would be able to lift the heavy things like they would ask him to lift. In another year, I don't think that will be an issue at all.  He is very committed to his job. He works everyday except for Sunday (so he can go to church) and right now Monday because he has been going to Dallas. His boss is a wonderful woman who has been very understanding and allowing him time to go.

With his increased income and me working every possible shift in Lubbock, we are hoping to get bills paid off as quickly as possible. God has definitely blessed us alot and we are VERY thankful to have the first year behind us.

We will have a celebration at church tonight for Abel's 1 year anniversary. It is not just a chance to celebrate him (he is VERY MUCH worth celebrating) but also to celebrate what God has done in his life and also through the prayers of our church people. We are aware others have been praying and obviously are very thankful for you all as well. I would offer to send cake through the mail to say thank you but it could go bad before it gets to you.   :) Thank you on here is not nearly enough but that is all we can do right now. We are eternally grateful for you ALL!!
